Case Study: Global Wellbeing Strategy and Framework.

We developed a workplace wellbeing strategy and framework for this global manufacturing business with offices, factories and labs in 94 countries across five continents.

The Challenge

As a global business with a wide range of functions, roles and locations, their wellbeing needs and practices were very diverse. They needed to review their wellbeing approach in line with the business’ strategy and ensure all their employees were supported in aiming for a good level of wellbeing.

What we did

After an initial analysis and benchmarking phase, we took a highly consultative approach to developing the strategy. We ran a series of focus groups to engage with representatives across functions, regions, cultures and languages. We heard from employees and managers from a wide range of countries such as Madagascar, the Congo, the Philippines and Ukraine as well as Europe and the USA. This helped us get an in-depth understanding of what the local priorities were, as well as the more strategic global priorities. We worked closely with the Health, Safety & Wellbeing team and the Workplace Wellbeing Group to evolve a vision, definition, purpose, wellbeing dimensions and guiding actions. Once that was signed off, we developed an action plan and roadmap for the internal team to implement..

The result.

The workplace wellbeing strategy and framework is currently being rolled out internally and is on its way to being embedded into their organisational culture. It offers an inclusive approach to all their employees, regardless of location, function or seniority. The foundations for wellbeing are set and are now being built upon with the creation and delivery of manager training, as well as identifying solutions, platforms and initiatives. The last piece in the puzzle will be to establish processes for monitoring and evaluating the wellbeing approach which will inform continuous improvements.
